Wind energy
Wind Energy: Wind energy has been harnessed by humans for centuries. Early windmills were used for grinding grains and pumping water. Today, advanced wind turbines efficiently convert wind energy into electricity. Wind turbines are durable structures designed to withstand various weather conditions. With proper maintenance, they can operate for 20 to 25 years or more. Wind energy is sustainable and clean, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and mitigating climate change.
The disadvantage of converting energy is that there is always a loss.
As with other clean energy sources, we at the FFABW believe that knowledge of wind energy should be available to everyone. So we are investigating applications to make homes self-sufficient with wind energy. And everything we research will be available under free open source licenses.
Running projects
Because we don't have a fablab (workshop) at the moment, all practical activity has been paused. The board is working to find another suitable and affordable space.
