This way of generating energy is, when done safely

Nuclear energy

Heat is released when atomic nuclei are split (nuclear fission) or joined (nuclear fusion). With this heat we can convert water into steam. We can use the steam to spin turbines and generate electricity.

This way of generating energy is, when done safely, very clean. Yet it is not a sustainable energy form. This is because the waste remains radioactive for hundreds of years. We saddle the next generations with this. Something that does not fall within the concept of sustainability.

However, we may have to use nuclear energy in the future. Then we prefer nuclear fusion or nuclear fission in a molten salt reactor with thorium as fuel. Both are still in development. The latter has reasonable prospects, but they still have to be realized.

The FFABW will not start any projects in this area.
What is done is monitoring what is happening in the world and informing you about it.
