Contributors and Sponsors
The FFABW can carry out its activities if finances are available.
Therefore it is looking for benefactors and sponsors. Contributors as well.
If desired, get a mention in the contributors section of this page.
Sponsors may have, depending on the size of the donation, an entry with logo linked to their website for one year from the date of the donation.
You can donate directly via our donation page.

We currently have a number of donors who transfer an amount every month. None of them feel it is necessary to have an attribution. Research and development costs a lot of money. We can work with these donations, but projects can be realized faster with a larger group of donors.

The FFABW is developing a complete installation. The installation consists of different parts.
There is at least one variant for each component. Each component is developed in a separate project.
Parts that already exist may not be developed until later.
We want everyone to have access to environmentally friendly techniques and that is possible under the free Open Source license.
The diagram below shows the entire installation.

Changes in governance.
April 12, 2021
Mr. Pieter Nobel has stepped down from his board position. The board would like to thank him for his efforts.
We have Mr. Jos Brakkee found willing to take on the position of secretary. That means that we have 3 board members again, but there is room for 2 more people. If you have time to spare and want to substantiate our goal, please contact one of the board members.
The crowdfunding campaign via kickstarter failed.
January 13, 2021
The reasons for failure have several causes.
Reasons are:
- The network or brand awareness is still too small.
- People don't understand what and why the FFABW does what it does.
- People want entertainment and a good feeling and not honest and clear information.
- No budget has been used to use social media.

Crowdfund
10 December 2020
The FFABW has started a crowdfunding campaign for the financing of a horizontal ridge windmill that we want to develop. You can find more about this on kicstarter.com. |

Coronavirus
June 24, 2020
In view of the developments surrounding the Corona Virus, the Fablab will reopen on June 30. The visiting times have been adjusted in connection with the summer heat. The Fablab is therefore open for visits on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 13:00. Since the volunteers are all in the risk group, it is extremely important that the rules for the Corona are properly followed. Therefore, do not visit if you have flu symptoms.
Corona Virus
March 16, 2020
The board has decided to follow the guidelines of the Dutch government. That is why the fablab will be closed for visitors for the next 14 days. This period will be extended if necessary. All activities will, if possible, be continued from home. We hope for your understanding.

The FFABW's 2018 annual report is online
December 1, 2019
The FFABW's 2018 annual report is online. This annual report is also only available in Dutch.
The annual report 2017 of FFABW is online
November 1, 2018
The FFABW annual report for 2017 is online. Unfortunately it is only in Dutch. It has taken longer as desired due to the large amount of work that the board performs. It is not easy to meet all requirements if you have too little manpower and resources. That does not change the purpose that the foundation stands for. Expansion of the board is desirable and the volunteer vacancies are registered locally.
The forum
November 1, 2018
The activities on the forum are almost non-existent. The fourth and last notification on the forum was in April. As far as we can tell, this person is concerned with checking good causes. Just like everyone, he is most welcome. The intention is that the FFABW is transparent in all its activities. The board only expects the forum to become active at the moment that the first products market is ready. That product will then be available under the free Open Source license. That free Open Source license is still being worked on.
Getting acquainted with Linux
October 14, 2018
Do you have a PC with an older Windows version and want to know what else is possible, e.g. with Linux. Linux is an Open Source PC operating system that often runs better on older computers than Windows 10. Then come take a look during the #MakersMarket in the #fablab of the #FFABW on the Steiger 24 in Almere-Haven. There are 5 PC on which you can click around. This activity takes place on 20 October 2018 and starts between 11:00 and 16:00. Entrance is free.
Roof ridge windmill development
May 27, 2018
The roof ridge windmill can be made in a horizontal and vertical principle.
Both types are currently in the design / prototype face.
Designing these windmills is an excellent study object.
Pupils of the Technacium of Helen Parkhurst have taken on a part of this project.
They are studying the type of windmill and are working on it.
The windmill will fit into a standard frame.
These standard frames will be determined by the FFABW and will be approximately 90 x 55 x 30 cm.
The frames can be easily coupled.
Fit pieces make it run through the entire roof ridge.
There is also a shield against flying birds.
There is a sloping roof and it connects with the existing roof covering.
In a frame, 1 horizontal or several vertical windmills can turn.
The windmill module is easily exchangeable.

March 15, 2018
"Companies that want to remain active in the Europe Union must comply with the rules of the Regulation. They must adjust their general terms and conditions and privacy policy in the near future in order to be in order on 25 May 2018 and to be able to provide the necessary guarantees to its users. "
The FFABW must also comply with this.
We also want to use Google's analytics to analyze the use of our website. With this data we want to make the website better. That means that we have to use "Cookies". We therefore ask you to accept the Cookies from the ffabw.org site.

The site has been renewed
February 24, 2018
The FFABW hopes that the site is now more accessible and understandable.
An informative site has a different function as a commercial site. This does not alter the fact that the information must be accessible to everyone and therefore work to improve that. Anyone who wants to use this knowledge through free Open-Source licenses must be able to understand it.
